Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
To compare Terry to the great Bobby Moore is like comparing sprats to salmon.

Do not get me wrong Terry is a very good player faster even than Bobby Moore ever could be but Bobby Moore had such grace and made it look as if he had ten minutes on every ball his passing was brilliant and God only knows how much better it would have been on better football pitches.
To be the man who who lifts that world cup and the talisman of the team the King pin is very rare so no English player ever should be compared to him.
I have to say his character was beautiful too.

A complete insult. More Terry Butcher than Sir Bobby

John Terry is no better than Terry Butcher.

Little Lord Cuntleroy can have that for free.

ILPDC,
I was referring to your comment about glassing. I thought that was obvious, you idiot. Read all the posts.

Look its 2015 Im deciding this offends me and I am wishing a glassing on him.

Whats the big deal? Never said I was going to do it or anything just hope someone does.

Terry has never been significantly better than whoever is next to him for England. And I think Rio was better most of the time the two were paired. I'll give him credit for being better for England than Lampard but thats it and he is a cunt.

(Terry is the same level of footballer as Ledley King or Sol Campbell even if a bit different of a player just been on a good team for a long time and in the England side as well. Carvalho was better than him most of their time together as well.)

Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
Bobby Moore had better rats in his sewer than John fucking Terry, the shite on his shoe was a better class than him.
Predicted exactly what Lampard would do to a friend who is Chelsea, a spoilt, ungracious cunt.

It is far easier to find similarities between Terry and a lump of shit than it is to draw comparisons between him and Bobby Moore.

Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
I normally agree with not comparing previous generations, but we are talking speciality here. Is there anybody anywhere who can be compared with Mooro for his ability to read the game? some pundits have suggested he was psychic

Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
I never liike to get drawn into comparing players from very different eras. It's a completely different game now.

But relatively speaking Moore was very special, for his time and Terry not so.

I'd say Terry was more like Kevin Beattie... not as good as Beattie before his knee fucked up but reminds me of him... he is nothing like Mooro as a player or as a person

At his peak, Rio was better than Terry, and more similar in style to Moor0.

You can have that for free, and I have no intention of explaining it you again.

Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
This is Lampard junior??? Far be it from me to question a superb footballer's views on the game but he's not old enough to have ever seen him play, if not, what would he know?

as someone who saw them both play, the views of a crap footballer are as follows;

1. They are both world class defenders.
2. Terry is the better header
3. Terry is more in the Collins mould in terms of brave blocks. Bobby could sometimes go the whole game with clean shorts.
4. Both have fantastic reading of the game but Bobby was untouchable in this regard.
5. Moore had better passing ability.
6. Neither were blessed with pace.
7. Terry has always played in a brilliant defence with great cover in front of him. Moore never had such luxury.

It is futile comparing generations and particularly with Moore who carries the cache of a golden age and more so because he is dead.

Overall I'd say there is no-one comparable to BM in the modern game. If Carrick were a specialist defender, he would be closer.

charleyfarley 11:16 Tue Feb 24
Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
I don't know where he gets the comparison, Mooro was the greatest reader of the game, and I don't think you can compare Mooro having a couple of pints in Blackpool to Lampard and Terry drunkenly abusing grieving Americans at a Heathrow hotel 24 hours after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

Wolf of WHO Street 11:16 Tue Feb 24

Terry has been a great defender, no doubt, but Mooro invented defending.

Pancho 11:15 Tue Feb 24
Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
Which is what I said.

But in the modern game with players designed to play a totally different way then before he is the closest to that style of play.

Albeit way off in comparison to Moore.

I don't need to explain it a 3rd time do I you busy cunt?

stuartslater 11:14 Tue Feb 24
Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???
Both lacked pace and both read the game better than their peers.
Would Bobby Moore have been more 'last ditch' if playing in the faster, more physical modern game? I think so.
That is no reflection on his ability or belittling his achievements.

Re: Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???

He said the closest you could get would be John Terry.

Which is true. In terms of style of play.

Nope. Terry's a last ditch blocker, throwing himself in the way of anything and everything.
Moor0 was a Rolls Royce of a defender, comfortable on the ball, and his reading of the game meant he never had any need for all the last ditch stuff that is Terry's hallmark.

They're absolutely light years apart.

Like him or loathe him, and I certainly loathe him, JT has been the best British centre half of the the last 25 years and has a right to be compared with the best British centre halves.
As a person? Now that's a different story.
